Cult Alaska-set vampire tale 30 Days of Night on UHD, Blu-ray & DVD from Icon in July
Icon Film Distribution has announced worldwide 4K UHD debut of arctic chiller 30 Days of Night, starring Josh Hartnett(Trap, Oppenheimer) in July.
The vampire cult favourite, based on the comic book series by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, returns in stunning 4K resolution and 16bit colour depth, offering an improved viewing experience with never seen before detail. Released as a Limited Edition 4K SteelBook, featuring stunning new artwork by Suspiria Vilchez, the two-disc dual format set is packed with 6 hours of bonus content, including a new audio commentary and new interviews, and comes with a booklet and poster. The film is also being released with new artwork on Blu-ray and DVD, with the Blu-Ray containing four new interviews.
For centuries, vampires have stayed in the dark, forced to hide each morning or else be destroyed by the burning power of the sun. But that’s all about to change, when a group of marauding and bloodthirsty vampires led by Marlow (Danny Huston), discover Barrow, Alaska; a remote, isolated town that is plunged into a state of complete darkness for 30 days every winter. As the merciless predators commence their month-long feast of the helpless residents, it is up to Sheriff Eben (Josh Hartnett), his estranged wife, Stella (Melissa George), and an ever-shrinking group of survivors to do anything and everything they can to last until daylight.
Directed by David Slade (Hard Candy, Black Mirror), produced by Evil Dead legend Robert Tapert, 30 DAYS OF NIGHT is a blood-freezing good time of a horror film, a cross between Assault on Precinct 13 and I Am Legend with a bloody dash of Near Dark. Josh Hartnett stars as Alaskan sheriff Eben Oleson, who with his wife Stella (Melissa George, Triangle), team up against a vampire horde led by the magnificently nasty Danny Huston (Ivan’s XTC) in the dark snowy wastes.
Described by The Telegraph ‘a must see’, 30 Days of Night is a film that is ‘gruesomely entertaining’ (Sunday Mirror), featuring a chilling score by Brian Reitzell (Hannibal), atmospheric cinematography by Jo Willems (The Hunger Games), and more vampire mayhem than you can shake a crucifix at.
30 Days of Night will be released on 4K UHD as a Steelbook Edition, as well as on Blu-ray and DVD by Icon Film Distribution on 27 July 2026 at the pre-order price of £49.99 for the UHD Steelbook, £20 for the Blu-ray and £10 for the DVD.
